Before We Shoot, We Talk

Every business is different. Every shoot is different. That's why before I show up with my camera, we have a conversation — so that the day runs smoothly, nobody's standing around wondering what happens next, and you get exactly what you need.

Here's what we'll work through together:

For office and team portraits:

  • Do you want everyone on the same backdrop for consistency, or shot at their own desk in their natural environment?

  • Is there a specific location in the office that represents your brand well?

  • Group photo — inside or outdoors, and who needs to be in it?

  • What rooms, spaces, and exterior areas need to be covered? The building — interior spaces, individual rooms, exterior and signage

  • The deliverables — who's ordering, who's using the photos, and what are they for?

  • Pricing

  • Single hour on location — from $250

  • Half day — $1,000

  • Full day, multiple locations — $3,000

  • All images delivered in full digital form. Commercial use rights included. No hidden fees.

For events and corporate occasions:

  • Who is ordering and who is using the photos?

  • Is this for internal use — newsletters, yearbooks, employee of the month, awards — or external marketing and advertising?

  • Are there sponsors, brand names, or products that need to be featured?

  • Will this event repeat — monthly, annually — and will my photos be used to promote the next one?

Twenty minutes on the phone before we shoot saves hours on the day.

This matters more than most people realize. A business owner promoting a new service needs different photos than an HR director putting together an employee anniversary book. An event planner promoting next year's gala needs different angles than a company documenting this year's awards ceremony.

Tell me who needs what — and I'll make sure everyone gets it.

Ready?

Let's talk about your business, your team, your event — and what your photos need to do for you.

Reach out today and let's make a plan.

How to Prepare Your Team and Your Space

This is where your preparation makes a real difference. Here's what I recommend:

People

  • Have your employees' schedules cleared and decide the order in which you want them photographed

  • Prepare a list of names in shooting order — this keeps things moving efficiently and ensures nobody gets missed

  • Ask everyone to practice in a mirror beforehand so clothing lays neatly and they feel comfortable

  • Have a mental picture of how you want the group shot arranged — think about who stands where and how much space you'll need

The Space

  • Clear the portrait area of clutter, loose wires, boxes, and anything you don't want in the shot — do this before I arrive

  • Plan enough space for portrait lighting setup — I'll be bringing lights, flashes, grids, reflectors, umbrellas, stands, tripods, and a beauty dish

  • Please have a table available for gear and equipment

  • If furniture needs rearranging for group shots, do that in advance so we're not losing shooting time

On the Day — Timing Is Everything

The most important thing you can do is assign one person to assist me throughout the shoot.

That person's job is to:

  • Watch the door for key arrivals and departures

  • Keep an eye out for special moments and direct me to them

  • Help gather people for group shots — allow a few extra minutes for this

  • Make sure I'm in the right place at the right time for speeches, awards, cake cutting, surprises, confetti, or any other moment that only happens once

  • Ensure everyone involved in organizing the event has a copy of the shot list

Make sure your timeline includes everything — who arrives when, who leaves early, any spontaneous meetings or appointments, and any exceptions to the schedule. The more detail the better. Don't miss a moment because nobody told the photographer it was happening.

Special Details Worth Capturing

Let me know in advance if there are specific items, people, or moments that must be included in the photos:

  • Family mementos, antiques, collectibles, or sentimental objects

  • Vehicles, animals, plants, or meaningful outdoor spaces

  • Architectural details — doors, walls, fences, gazebos, walkways, driveways

  • Nearby lakes, ponds, fountains, or landscaping

  • The people behind the scenes — chef, kitchen staff, decorators, lighting technicians, groundskeepers, security, chauffer, uber driver, and anyone else who contributes to making the event happen

These are often the shots clients wish they'd thought of. Now you have.

What I May Bring

I show up fully equipped and fully prepared. I bring professional daylight lighting, flashes, beauty dish, and grid lighting — so we are never at the mercy of whatever the office fluorescents happen to be doing that day. Your team will look polished, professional, and real.

I arrive fully equipped for professional results regardless of your office or venue's lighting conditions:

  • Professional daylight and strobe lighting

  • Flashes with grids and reflectors

  • Beauty dish for polished portrait lighting

  • Umbrellas and stands

  • Tripods for interiors and group shots

You don't need a photography-friendly office. You just need to be ready — and now you are.

Let's Make a Plan

The best shoots start with a conversation. Reach out, tell me about your event or office shoot, and we'll put together a timeline and shot list together before the day arrives.

I've thought of everything. Now let's go make some great photos.

Parking and Access

  • Please save a parking space close to the entrance — I'll be carrying and transporting equipment

  • Let me know in advance about any loading zone restrictions, stairs, elevators, or parking garages

  • If a parking app or payment is needed, please add me as a guest in advance

  • Notify your security desk, receptionist, and building manager of my arrival time ahead of the shoot day
